Written in October 2019. Like most of my stuff, the name came after the entire thing was pretty much written. The slow, steady procession of the various instruments, one by one, all playing the same tune, their transitions marked by the harsh percussive fills, put me in mind of some sort of ritual mass execution. It's a pretty dark connection to make, but let's just say my mind may not have gone to that place if I had written this two years ago.
